Government and Politics

The United States has a larger percentage of its population in prison than any other country on Earth — in all of history.                                                              The November Coalition
America has more prisoners in California alone than do the nations of France, Great Britain, Japan, Germany, Holland, and Singapore – combined                  -- Justice Policy Institute

First read the United States Constitution and in particular the Bill of Rights. You might also want to read the Honorable Ron Paul's web page titled "A Republic, If You Can Keep It." Then take a look at the list below and see if you think these are the actions of a constitutional government. The U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights is supposed to be the supreme law of the land, but our government has illegally violated virtually every provision of it. Ask yourself, ‘‘Is this the kind of government I want running the country and my life?’’ If the answer is no way, then register to vote as a libertarian (voter registration cards are available at all U.S. Post Offices) and vote for libertarian candidates. While it’s true that some libertarian candidates might become as corrupt as anyone else once they were in power, at least libertarians have publicly pledged to drastically reduce the size of government and to restrict its powers to those granted by the Constitution. The Libertarian Platform includes enforcement of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, including protection of the right to keep and bear arms, elimination of ‘‘victimless crimes’’ (including legalization of drugs), and greatly reduced taxes1. I say give them a chance. Even if you think you’re not a libertarian, take the ‘‘World’s Smallest Political Quiz’’ anyway. You might be amazed to learn that you’re actually libertarian at heart.
